The Donation Pile

I can not explain why, but there is something about my children knowing their toys are going to the goodwill that makes them want to play. I have three boxes of kid "stuff" waiting for me to find the time to donate sitting in my garage. That is my worst mistake! Unless the toys I feel are no longer worthy to have a presence in my house are disposed of immediately, they will find there way back in. So, as I sit here this morning, all four kids home, I take stock of everything that is now important to them. The oh so special items that never got any attention until they were singled out as donatable. We have the bumbo seat, puzzles, books, flying barbies and the wagon full of blocks spread across the living room floor. I have decided I will let them play today, and then box the toys up for round two of donation.

Sweet and Salty Nuts

One of the grocery stores had Nature Valley granola bars on sale for $1 a box. An incredible deal! My family eats almost one full box every two days. As you can imagine everyone was stocking up on the max amount, eight. Well, we like all of the flavors, but our favorite is the sweet and salty almond bars. Must be everyones favorite because for the last two days they have been out. Tonight was the last night of the sale so I decided to ask for a rain check. The semi-deaf employee, making sure he has the correct information, repeats "ma'am, now you want eight sweet and salty nuts"? I turn a little red and say "yes sir, the almond ones".

Can I Justify buying Uggs for the Winter?

I know there are more important things to discuss, but this has been weighing on my mind. Can I buy Uggs this winter? Almost three years ago my husband bought me the most beautiful pair of white Uggs. They were purchased at a time when they were sold out everywhere. On one of his business trips to Washington D.C. he peeked into Nordstrom and took the last pair of size 10's. I am sure you are wondering why I would need another pair, well here's the problem. They are so dirty! I have googled and called everything and everywhere I can think of. There is no way to get them as clean as I feel would make them presentable. So can I buy another pair? Would showing up at school pick-up in a brand new pair of Uggs make all the fashionistas cringe? Can I be three years too late, but justify it my telling everyone they are my second pair? Oh the dilemas this mommy faces.

A little bit about this mommy

Whenever I read a blog I like to find out a little bit about the author. Here is my attempt to fill you in on me. I am a married twenty-eight year old stay at home mom of four children. Seven, five, two and a half, and almost one. Girl, boy, girl, boy. We are done! I love my children with all my heart, but it is time to move on from babies. I met my husband at the age of eighteen and married him at nineteen. Husband is a thirty-two year old engineer/entrepreneur. He is in the process of growing a business so there will be many blog entries regarding our success and failure into that arena! Husband and I just celebrated nine years of marriage! I have a degree in teaching, but hope that I never have to work! Although I don't want to rush time too much, I have secret fantasies of my life in five years. Just me, my Mac, and a coffee shop! But, like I said, I don't want to rush time. It seems to go fast enough as it is.....
